Dal Lake

The Dal Lake which has the length of 8 Km long and a width of 4 Km, spreads over a total of 26 Sq. Km. The fascinating Dal Lake is divided into two smaller ones the Lokut (small) and Bod (big) Dal. The south western part of the lake has a maximum depth of approximately 12 M.

Dal Lake is situated in the hub of the modern city of Srinagar, the summer capital of the State. The urban lake which is the second largest in the state is integral to tourism and recreation in Kashmir and is nick named as Srinagar's Jewel. In the Dal lake is an island named 'chaar chinaar' which has been named after the four chinar trees on it. This property belongs to the royal family of Jammu and kashmir. Nehru park, which is a floating park on the lake is about 55 yards from the boulevard. It gives a splendid view of the lake, boulevard and the mountains around.

Mughal Garden


Mughal Gardens which have truly changed the face of the Mughal Empire is one of the most popular and the most visited tourist attractions of Srinagar. During their rule, the Mughals began to build several types of gardens in Persian architecture, and the combination of these gardens is referred to as the Mughal Gardens. The natural beauty of the place filled with lush green grass and the scented flowers is a stress-buster and pleasing to the eyes. The tourists who come here take long strolls in the garden or sit and admire the beauty of the place.


Shalimar Bagh
Shalimar Bagh is the largest mughal garden in India located at northeast of Dal Lake near Srinagar city along with other famous lake garden Nishat Bagh. The Bagh has the Dal Lake in the background and considered to be very beautiful during the autumn and spring seasons.

Nishat Bagh
Nishat Bagh is one of the most beautiful terraced Mughal garden located at the side of the famous Dal Lake near Srinagar. The Garden of Gladness or Nishat Bagh is the second largest Mughal garden in the Kashmir Valley located on the bank of the Dal Lake with the Zabarwan Mountains at the back and offers a magnificent view Pir Panjal mountain range.


Achabal Garden
The Achabal Garden is one of the most splendid tourist attraction in Anantnag and one of the finest masterpiece of Mughal style gardens in India. Achabal Garden is also known as the places of the princes and attracts thousands of tourists from all over the globe every year.


Chashme_Shahi-Garden
The Chashme Shahi is one of the beautiful mughal garden built around a spring in the Zabarwan Range. A fresh water spring,terraces,water pool and a large fountain makes it the most charming of the gardens near Srinagar along the banks of the Dal lake.

Pari Mahal
Pari Mahal is beautiful seven terraced garden over-looking city of Srinagar at the top of Zabarwan mountain range in Srinagar. The gardens is the property of the Srinagar government and also known as the Worlds Beautiful High Altitude Paramilitary Camp.
